Diamond Bar: Mast Arm-Mounted Internally Illuminated Street Name Signs and Traffic Signal Safety Lights (TM 23201) ©2022 Yunex Traffic 15 The goal of this project is to remove all existing internally illuminated street name signs at the signalized intersections citywide and replace with upgraded internally illuminated light emitting diode (LED) sign hardware, and to also remove and replace the existing traffic signal safety lights with new LED light fixtures. As part of the sign replacement, the panel design will also be updated to the latest design, which features the City’s windmill logo and a white highway gothic typeface over a green background. All the existing sign and lighting hardware will be disposed of by Yunex Traffic as part of this Project. There are sixty-six (66) interconnected signalized intersections that are maintained and operated by the City of Diamond Bar. A. Internally Illuminated Street Name Signs There are two hundred twenty-nine (229) illuminated street name signs that will be procured and installed as part of this Project. Of that total, there are eight (8) new sign housings to be installed at various intersections that are currently missing a sign; these sites may require additional electrical work to provide power for the illuminated signs. One (1) intersection will also require the installation of a davit arm extender to mount an illuminated street name sign. The following summarizes the number of sign housings that are installed at all intersections citywide: • 38 intersections featuring four internally illuminated street name sign housings, • 23 intersections featuring three internally illuminated street name sign housings, • 5 intersections featuring two internally illuminated street name sign housings, and • 1 intersection featuring existing street name signs that will not be replaced. Each sign housing assembly features front-and-back street name sign panels, which means that there are a total of four hundred fifty-eight (458) panels to be manufactured and installed with the new sign hardware. Please refer to Attachment F for specific details on street name sign text, number of panels, and the number of internally illuminated street name sign housings lights for each intersection, respectively. B. Traffic Signal Safety Lights There are three hundred thirty-five (335) existing traffic signal safety lights that will be replaced at all the intersections citywide as part of this Project. The following summarizes the number of traffic signal safety lights that are installed at all intersections citywide: • 7 intersections featuring eight traffic signal safety lights, • 3 intersections featuring seven traffic signal safety lights, • 20 intersections featuring six traffic signal safety lights, • 10 intersections featuring five traffic signal safety lights, • 16 intersections featuring four traffic signal safety lights, • 6 intersections featuring three traffic signal safety lights, and • 3 intersections featuring two traffic signal safety lights. Please refer to Attachment F for specific details on traffic signal safety lights for each intersection, respectively.
