Vermont Los Angeles, California Attention: Mr. Ray Waldbaum Subject: Periodic Grading Progress Report, Tracts 29053, 34160 and 34161; for the periods from December 18, 1978 through March 31, 1979; Diamond Bar, County of Los Angeles, California. Gentlemen: The following report summaries grading operations along with the geologic and soil conditions encountered to date, since our last in -grading report dated December 22, 1978, for Tracts 29053, 34160 and 34161, Diamond Bar, County of Los Angeles, California. Grading progress is presented chrono- logically in intervals of approximately 15 days. Each in- terval contains subheadings and commentaries summarizing the grading and inspections performed during that time. DECEMBER 18 - 31 Job was shut down due to rain, between December 18 and the 26th. FILL AREAS Compacted fill was placed in the vicinity of Lots 85-95, and in the stabilization fill south of Lot 100 (Tract 34161). w I T 1 0 N APR 1979 2) SUBDRAINAGE 286 feet of backdrains were placed in the stabilization south of Lot 100 (Tract 34161). CUT AREAS Areas which were undergoing mass excavation during this period included Lots 1-19 and 87-100 (Tract 34161). Finishing was being performed on lots adjacent to Chirping Sparrow Road and Running Branch Road. JANUARY 1 - 31 Due to rain,grading operations were shut down between January 5, 1979 to January 21, 1979 and from January 30, 1979 to January 31, 1979. STABILIZATION A buttress fill south of Lot 100 (Tract 34161) was completed by overfilling and trimming back the face of the slope. Excavation of a 15'wide by 3'deep stabilization key for the slope south of Lot 78 (Tract 29053) was begun. 3) Tl T TT T C1 T T T TTfl Finishing of lots along Hawkwood Road and Chirping Sparrow was being performed during this time for both Tracts 34161 and 29053. ADDITIONAL WORK Additional work being performed for Tracts 34161 and 29053 included the cleaning out of the desilting basins and erosion repairs. FEBRUARY 1 - 28 Due to rain grading operations were shut down for all but about 6 days out of the entire month. STABILIZATIONS A 15'wide by 3'deep stabilization key was excavated, inspected and approved to receive fill for the slope south of Lot 78 Tract 29053). FILL AREAS Minor amounts of fill were being placed in the vicinity of Lots 70 and 71 (Tract 29053). 4) Cut excavation was being performed in the vicinity of Lots 79-82 (Tract 29053). ADDITIONAL WORK Additional work included repairs of minor erosion damage to streets, pads and slopes along Running Branch Road and Chirping Sparrow Road. MARCH 1 - 30 FILL Fill was placed on Lots 80-84 (Tract 29053) and in the stability fill south of Lot 78 (Tract 29053). CUT Minor cuts were made on Lots 78-82 (Tract 29053),and in the streets. FINISHING Finishing of pads, slopes and streets were accomplished on Lots 79-82 (Tract 29053) and on streets and slopes along Chirping Sparrow Road, Running Brach Road and Goldrun. 1 ( 5) GEOLOGIC CONDITIONS With the exception of minor folding and shearing, geologic conditions including bedrock structure, are generally as anticipated.
