HomeMy WebLinkAboutRE_ Diamond Bar Village Correction List Status (64).msgCAUTION: This message originated outside of our City of Diamond Bar network.
Hi Raymond,
Yes, you're correct, the Board has authorized the plumber to put together a plan, pull permits and after your department's feedback (adjustments/corrections to plans) give an estimate
for entire scope of work.
The plumber wasn't sure if you were requiring only permits or a full removal and replacement of previously completed plumbing work, so he was not able to give us an estimate for the
entire scope of work.
To clarify, he plans to pull plans for what you've sighted as unpermitted work and have it inspected. Then he will give us an estimate for the scope of work your department fails (not
sure it that's the correct wording).
The plumbing work I referred to in my email yesterday is a new issue not on your list, but of importance.
Sincerely,
Yvette Marie Allen, CMCA®

Good Morning Yvette,
Thus far it was my understanding from correspondence that the plumber was authorized with HOA funds to start the plumbing work requested by our notice. Please confirm.
We only share information if a public document request is made to provide the communication. Otherwise, it is not provided to the public.
Thanks,

Good morning Raymond,
Thank you for your response. Yesterday was a very long day and I'm much more alert today, yet wondering if this statement is a typo... "since we may already have funding for the plumbing
repair"
Did you mean to say that the Association may already have funding? or is there some assistance fund that the Association or homeowners might qualify for?
Also, before I answer the questions from your response, I'd like to confirm what your department's protocol is for sharing information that is between your department and the Association;
specifically how would an inquiry, regarding our communications, from one of the condominium owners be handled?

Ok, we will need the report. Also, I would need to know how you will be funding the wall repair since we may already have funding for the plumbing repair. We need to have assurances
that some work will be done in a short period of time.

I resent it but I don't see that it's gone through...
Below is the body of the email...basically the report says one of the exterior walls of building B needs to be replaced due to dry rot and termite damage.
Hi Victor,
It was a pleasure seeing you last week during your visit to unit K-17. This email is sent at your request for a status update on the city’s correction list; specifically, where we are
with our plumber pulling permits.
I apologize for the delay in getting this to you; my crew and I have all been out sick for a week now and we are just beginning to return to work as our COVID-19 test results come in.
So far all are negative 😊
None of us had a fever, cough or shortness of breath, but we had a few of the other minor symptoms on the CDC’s COVID-19 symptoms list, so out of an abundance of caution we pulled everyone
from work until they receive a negative COVID-19 test.
You may recall that I was surprised to hear that our plumber had not already pulled the necessary permits, because he had been out weeks prior taking measurements and I was under the
impression that’s what the measurements were taken for.
After your visit and my subsequent call to Scott Harrison Plumbing, I learned that they were awaiting payment of six invoices, totaling $15,069.65 for work completed at 23601 Golden
Springs Dr. unit A05, which have since been paid.
They’re scheduled to remeasure tomorrow, which would be used to pull permits for the correction list; however, I’d like to bring another issue to your attention, as I’m sure you will
agree it is of greater urgency.
Attached is a report I requested from Khatri International, which I believe should be addressed prior to the items on the correction list and therefore respectfully request an extension
of time for the correction list as we shift to what I believe will need to be roofing and wall repairs (see attached report).
I have requested that Mr. Khatri give me a quote that I can have approved by the Board giving him authorization to draw up plans for permitting and repair.
Please advise if you would be agreeable to our request for an extension and to shift Scott Harrison Plumbing’s attention to the plumbing issue contributing to the issue in the attached
report.
I look forward to working with you on both matters to ensure the safety of our residents.

s too vague for them to bid, because it doesn’t show what the city is requiring by way of repairs. Are you able to elaborate on what you’re requiring in terms of repairs so we can get
an apples-to-apples comparison of bids?
We hope this update shows the association’s willingness to cooperate with your request for corrections and will allow for extensions if needed. We look forward to your response to
