HomeMy WebLinkAboutRe_ 22819 Canyon View rd_ Diamond Bar CAGood Afternoon Steven, Thank you for following up on this unfortunate issue. We all hope to find a resolution to their issues. The owners of the property met with me yesterday afternoon. We discussed their pending litigation with their project manager and contractors. We reviewed the plans and discussed the process to make copies of the plans. The owner was going to make contact with their attorney and make an official contact with the engineer of record CalCivic. Please note that the letter provided (which was included in your email) indicated the engineer’s phone was disconnected but while we were at the counter I called the engineer and discussed the request with him. What we are requesting is a clear paper trail that the engineer has been contacted consistent with State law. Once that is done, we may release the plans. This was discussed and as I believed understood by the owners. If this is contrary to my understanding, please let me know what I misinterpreted. Please also let me know how I may be of further assistance. Thank you. As to the contractors, I attempted to communicate with the contractors via telephone, but many of the sub-contractors did not return my call or letter after I left them voicemails and messages. One contractor's phone was simply disconnected and presumably, he is no longer in business. Two of the sub-contractors I was able to connect with via telephone, either refused or failed to turn over the signed form despite my requests made. On April 15, 2019, one of the contractors told me via telephone he would not sign anything unless he got paid by the prior general contractor. Attached are the letters I sent to the sub-contractors. Please let me know If I can be of your further assistance.” ~ What options do we have? Can we pursue a freedom of information act request to acquire the plans from the architect and the city? After speaking to the constituent it sounds like the city is unable to release the plans and the owner needs the plans to finish the project. The constituent has been in contact with Ms. Magallanes but there seems to be a hold up in the process of attaining the plans. Thank you, Steven A.
