HomeMy WebLinkAboutRe_ 22819 Canyon View (PR 14-5095) (90)Raymond: As we explained to the City on numerous occasions we were making modifications to plans that were previously reviewed to simplify and reduce the amount of construction and grading required. At no time did the City tell us our submittal was incomplete; the plans were reviewed over the counter and accepted by Jeff Tol. The revised plans consisted of the new grading design and also new structural details for the garage opening. We submitted these drawings together, not separately. All the information that is being reviewed was submitted in back in September 2015. We can only surmise that the drawings (that the City had since September 2015) were not forwarded to Public Works until very recently. You are now telling us we have an incomplete submittal. If this was the case the City should have informed us back in September 2015. From the beginning of our involvement we have relied on the City's advice and plan check procedures and now you appear to be telling us we are responsible for the delays. We have gone through various plan checkers and have noticed a lack of continuity and the passing of relevant information from one department to another. When we met with you on December 8, 2015 you brought in Sterling Mosley from Grading. We reviewed his corrections and with the new simplified grading design he told us we did not have to submit another grading plan but only needed a note regarding limits of cut and fill which we provided via email on December 16, 2015. Now we have been informed he is no longer with the City so that his comments and agreement with us are virtually void (we had a similar situation with the departure of Josue in Planning). Rather than having the reason for any delays shifted to our team, as you are doing, we are looking for a spirit of cooperation and a resolve to help us wrap up what has turned out to be a disorganized, lengthy and costly process for our clients. We still do not have an explanation to give them regarding the last correction from Public Works being submitted five months after submittal. I will be following up with Kimberly Young in the Engineering Department next week regarding compliance with their correction(s). If approved by Engineering, I will also need to capture Kimberly’s signature on the plans. Please keep in mind that we may not be able to issue the permit right away since not all reviewing staff may be available at the same time to stamp and sign the plans for permit issuance. This may take a few working days. Once ready for permit issuance, the contractor will be required to furnish a contractor’s pocket license, worker’s compensation insurance certificate and cash or check only for payment.
