San Gabriel Boulevard, Suite D, San Gabriel, California 91776 November 8, 2019 Grace Lee Senior Planner City of Diamond Bar 21810 Copley Drive Diamond Bar, CA 91765 generalplan@diamondbarca.gov Re: Diamond Bar’s General Plan Update – Redesignation of Parcel Dear Ms. Lee: We are the owner of approximately 12 acres of land located at the southwesterly terminus of Crooked Creek Road (APN: 8714-02-003). It has come to our attention that the City is changing the land use designation of the rest of our block, but is excluding our lot. We request that the City change the land use designation of our parcel, or at least the southerly developable portion of it, from Low Density Residential to Low Medium Density Residential to match the change being made to the rest of our street. We previously made this request of our planner. We have been working with the City on our residential development plan for the past year or so. We have an application and file open under Tract 54081. Most recently we had a City mandated public outreach meeting to discuss our plans. We have spent a lot of time and money to create a project that the City and neighbors will accept. Then we were informed last week that now we will need to do a General Plan Amendment to revise our land use to conform with the proposed General Plan that has not even been adopted yet. We were told that it is required to conform to our neighbors’ land use designation which is being changed with the City proposed update. Previously, we were able to develop our project under the existing land use and zoning. The exclusion of our property makes no sense to us.
