Low Council Member Nancy A. Lyons Council Member As Mayor for the City of Diamond Bar, I would greatly appreciate your consideration to support the City's Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program Grant (Prop 68) applications for the future park at Sunset Crossing and the Heritage Park Rehabilitation Project. The City of Diamond Bar has a tremendous unmet need for park space. As an example, the Sunset Crossing neighborhood has 0 park acres per 1,000 residents making it a park disadvantaged neighborhood. The future park at Sunset Crossing would transform a vacant lot into a neighborhood park with a tot lot, basketball court, pickleball courts, picnic tables, par course for exercising, and be a multigenerational park for persons of all ages. and mobility types. The Heritage Park Rehabilitation Project would make needed ADA Accessibility improvements and provide new programming and recreational opportunities to one of the oldest facilities in the City. The City's two grant applications will undergo review by the California Department of Parks and Recreation as part of this highly competitive grant process. Any consideration and assistance you could provide in support of the City's grant applications is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions about the grant applications, please contact City Manager Dan Fox at 909.839.7010 or by email to dfox@,diamondbarco.gov. Very truly yours, Carol errera, Mayor CC: City Council City Manager
