Existing law requires that a person who personally uses a firearm to commit certain specified felonies to be punished by an additional and consecutive term of imprisonment. SB 620 would delete the prohibition and allow a court to strike or dismiss an enhancement otherwise required by current law. Therefore, I request you exercise your discretion to veto SB 620. I thank you for your willingness to work with municipalities to make our communities safer, and your consideration of the SB 620 veto request.
