RE: Oppose AB 3232
Dear Chair Gonzalez Fletcher:
The City of Diamond Bar respectfully opposes AB 3232 (Friedman), which would place
additional restrictions on space heating and water heating in both new and existing
residential and commercial buildings.
The City is generally supportive of new technology and integrating efficiencies into
residential and commercial developments. AB 3232 would go beyond existing mandates,
and compel residential and commercial property owners to electrify end uses, regardless
of what people want or the increased cost to consumers. Placing new restrictions on
space heating and water heating in both new and existing residential and commercial
buildings would place significant financial costs on residents and businesses, and
substantially increase the cost of new and existing developments in the state.
For these reasons, the City of Diamond Bar opposes AB 3232.
Thank you for your consideration on this matter.
Sincerely,
Mayor Ruth M. Low
