AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DIAMOND BAR ADOPTING THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY
CODE AND OTHER RELEVANT NONCODIFIED COUNTY
ORDINANCES AS CITY ORDINANCES FOR A PERIOD OF
ONE HUNDRED TWENTY DAYS AND PROVIDING FOR ITS
ADOPTION AS AN URGENCY ORDINANCE.
The City Council of the City of Diamond Bar does ordain
as follows:
Section 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section
57376.5 of the Government Code of the State of California, all
ordinances of the County of Los Angeles, codified in the Los
Angeles County Code and all other ordinances of the County of Los
---1 Angeles, theretofore applicable, are hereby adopted as ordinances
of the City of Diamond Bar and shall remain in full force and
effect as City ordinances for a period of one hundred twenty
(120) days from the effective date of this ordinance, or until
the City Council enacts ordinances superseding them, whichever
shall first in time occur.
Section 2. The following amendments are made to the
County of Los Angeles Ordinances referenced herein:
(a) Whenever "Board of Supervisors" or "Board" is
used in the Ordinance, it means the Diamond Bar City Council.
(b) Whenever "County" is used in the Ordinance,
it means the geographical limits of the City of Diamond Bar
unless a different geographical area is clearly indicated by the
context.

(c) Whenever "County", "County of Los Angeles",
or "Unincorporated,Territory of the County of Los Angeles" is
used, it means the City of Diamond Bar.
Section 3. No City Ordinance enacted within one
hundred twenty (120) days from the effective date of this
ordinance shall be deemed to supersede any County Ordinance
referenced herein unless the City Ordinance specifically refers
thereto and states an intention to supersede it.
Section 4. This Ordinance is required by the
provisions of Section 57376 of the Government Code of the State
of California. This Ordinance is therefore necessary for the
protection of public health, welfare, and general safety and
shall take effect immediately upon its adoption as an urgency
ordinance.
Section 5. Penalties.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, partnership
or corporation to violate any provision or to fail to comply with
any of the requirements of the Code hereby adopted. Any person,
firm, partnership or corporation violating any provision of said
code or failing to comply with any of its requirements shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall
be punished by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars
($1,000.00), or by imprisonment, not exceeding six (6) months, or
by both such fine and imprisonment. Each such person, firm,
partnership or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate

offense for each and every day or any portion thereof during
which any violation of any of the provisions of said code is
committed, continued, or permitted by such person, firm,
partnership or corporation and shall be deemed punishable
therefore as provided herein.
Section 6. Civil Remedies Available.
The violation of any of the provisions of the Code
hereby adopted shall constitute a nuisance and may be abated by
the City of Diamond Bar through civil process by means of a
restraining order, preliminary or permanent injunction, or in any
other manner provided by law for the abatement of such nuisance.
� Section 7. Severability.
The City Council declares that, should any provision,
section, paragraph, sentence or word of the Code hereby adopted
be rendered or declared invalid by any final court action in a
court of competent jurisdiction or by reason of any pre-emptive
legislation, the remaining provisions, sections, paragraphs,
sentences or words of the Code hereby adopted shall remain in
full force and effect.
Section 8 . The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and
the City Clerk shall cause the same to be posted within fifteen
(15) days after its passage in at least three (3) public
locations in the City of Diamond Bar.
