HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 90-57RESOLUTION NO. 90 - 57 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND BAR ESTABLISHING THE POSITION AND SALARY RANGE FOR PARKS MAINTENANCE WORKER II WHEREAS the City of Diamond Bar was incorporated April 18, 1990; and WHEREAS the need for the position of Parks Maintenance Worker II has arisen; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Diamond Bar, California, as follows: Section 1. That the position of the Parks Maintenance Worker II shall be established. Section 2. That the position shall be authorized a salary range of $1900 - $2310 effective July 1, 1990. Section 3,. That the position shall be a classified employee with all benefits accorded respectively. Worker 1,944-2,494/month N/A N/A 2,014-2,433 2,247-2,477 2,094-2,555 N/A pARK MAINTENANCE WORKER II Job Definition Under supervision of the Superintendent of Parks and Maintenance, perform park and public facility maintenance; operate power equipment and tools, assist in the repair and maintenance of public buildings, athletic facilities, irrigation systems and park amenities. Perform other duties assigned. Duties and ResRonsibilities Perform and assist in the repair of electrical and plumbing systems at City facilities; inspect and repair playground equipment; set-up for various City events and meetings; move office• furniture; perform minor carpentry, repair and operate irrigation systems, stake, trim and fertilize trees, shrubs. Make emergency repairs of water and electrical systems; respond to 24 hour emergency call - outs; perform other duties as assigned. Desirable Oualifications Knowledge of building maintenance, such as electrical, plumbing and carpentry. Ability to operate power equipment and tools. Ability to use hand tools. Knowledge of mechanical equipment maintenance; ability to make minor repairs to vehicles, ability to perform strenuous manual labor; ability to perform maintenance work without close supervision; and to establish and maintain effective and cooperative relations with staff and the public. Requirements Graduation from High School or equivalent. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Able to respond to 24 hour emergency calls. One year of experience maintaining park or building facilities. Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
