RESOLUTION GRANTING CONSENT AND JURISDICTION
TO THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES
IN THE MATTER OF
COUNTY LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT 10006
AND COUNTY LIGHTING DISTRICT LLA -1
CITY OF DIAMOND BAR ZONE
PROJECT 207-98
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles is about
to commence proceedings under Divisions 7 and 15 of the Streets and Highways
Code, for the annexation of territory to County Lighting Maintenance
District 10006 and County Lighting District LLA -1; and
WHEREAS, the proposed annexation will have street lights installed in
the City of Diamond Bar; and
WHEREAS, all of the land included in the proposed annexation lies within
the boundary of the City of Diamond Bar,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Diamond Bar, as follows:
SECTION I
That the public interest, convenience and necessity require the maintenance
of a street lighting system located within said territory as shown on the maps
of the annexation of County Lighting Maintenance District 10006 and County
Lighting District LLA -1 on file in the office of the Department of Public Works.
Beach Naval Shipyard, to enact similar resolutions.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is directed to transmit
copies of this resolution to the President of the United States,
the Secretaries of Defense and Navy, the Chairpersons of the
Congressional Committees on Budget, Armed Services, and
Appropriations, United States Senators Alan Cranston and Pete
Wilson, all members of the United States House of Representatives
representing the City of Diamond Bar and the Mayors of all cities
affected by the closure of the shipyard.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption by the City Council, and the City Clerk shall
certify the vote adopting this resolution.
