HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 91-08RESOLUTION NO, 91-08 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND BAR RECOGNIZING, COMMENDING AND SUPPORTING UNITS OF THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES WHEREAS, America's men and women have heroically served their country in time of need for over 200 years and our armed forces have been required to make special sacrifices, serving their country under conditions of extreme hardship; and WHEREAS, America's men and women of the armed forces have earned a very special place in the hearts of all Americans due to their selfless devotion to duty and unflinching courage in serving their country so faithfully; and WHEREAS, the City of Diamond Bar and its citizens wish to recognize and provide support and encouragement to our men and women stationed in the Middle East who are dedicated to protecting and serving the ideals of freedom and patriotism; and WHEREAS, the 155th Support and Supply Battalion (United States Army Reserves), the 6252nd Army Reserve Hospital, the 16th Navy Seabees and members of the 82nd Airborne Division are stationed in the Middle East prepared to protect freedom and the citizens of the world who cherish the rights, privileges, responsibilities and independence of free governments around the world; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Diamond Bar does hereby recognize, honor and commend these military units _ of the United States of America and encourage all of our citizens to adopt the men and women of these units and give them their love, admiration and total support in accomplishing the objectives established by these very special citizens serving in the armed forces of America. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 5thdayof February, 1991.
