RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DIAXOND BAR
SUPPORTING APPROVAL OF SENATE BILL 96(GREENE) AND ASSE1[BLY BILL
1168, KNOWN AS THE PUBLIC FACILITIES BOND ACT OF 1996
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 96 (SB96) has been introduced by
Senator Leroy Greene, which provides for the issuance of
$3,000,000,000 in State General Obligation Bonds for education -
related school facilities construction and school facilities
programs; and
WEEREAS, Assembly Bill 1168 (AB1168) has been amended by
Assemblyman Robert Campbell to achieve the same purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Pomona Unified School District has commenced
construction of Diamond Ranch High School; and
WHEREAS, Diamond Ranch High School,is a high school that
will serve high school -aged students living in the northern
portion of Diamond Bar; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the proposed funding for the
_ construction of Diamond Ranch High School has been planned to
come from the State School Building Lease -Purchase fund; and
WHEREAS, bond proceeds from SB96 or AB1168 would be
transferred to the State School Building Lease -Purchase Fund and
be making them ava;lable for school facilities construction
funding, e.g. Diamond Ranch High School; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature must adopt and the Governor must
sign all legislation placing bond issues on the March 26, 2996
primary ballot no later than January 8, 1996,
NOW, TEEREFORE, the City Council for the City of Diamond Bar
hereby resolves that the City of Diamond Bar supports approval of
Senate Bill 96 (Greene) and/or Assembly Bill 1168 (Campbell) both
known as the Public Education Facilities Bond Act of 1996, and
urges the Legislature and the Governor to adopt this legislation
no later than January 8, 1996 for placement on the March 1996
primary Ballot.

1995.
