HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 95-70RESOLUTION NO. 95-70 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND BAR SUPPORTING FUNDING OF THE SR57/SR60 INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENT WHICH ARE RECOMMENDED BY THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY (LACMTA) IN THE PROPOSED 1996 STATE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (SITM AND ENCOURAGE THE CALIFORNIA TRANSPORTATION COMNIISSION TO INCLUDE THE SR57/SR60 INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENTS IN THE 19% STATE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (STIP) WHEREAS, the SR57/SR60 Interchange is impacted by vehicular traffic from four county regions (Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside); and WHEREAS, almost 300,000 vehicles per day move through the SR57/SR60 Interchange, which is a greater volume of traffic than Spring Street at the 101 freeway in the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles airport at the 405 freeway; and WHEREAS, the travel of service in the SR57/SR60 Interchange is at "F" and -- will continue to get worse without improvements to the Interchange; and WHEREAS, the California Transportation Department and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority have developed a SR57/SR60 Interchange improvement program that will relieve and alleviate the adverse impacts caused by the design defects in the SR57/SR60 Interchange; and WHEREAS, the Us Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority has recommended the funding of the SR57/SR60 Interchange improvement in the 1996 State Transportation Improvement Program, which is briefly being considered by the California Transportation Commission; and WHEREAS, the SR57/SR60 improvement project will benefit those who live in and work in the Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside Counties. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Diamond Bar hereby supports the funding of the SR57/SR60 Interchange improvements which are recommended by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) in the proposed 1996 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and encourage the California Transportation Commission to include the SR57/SR60 Interchange improvements in the 1996 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this = day of December, 1995.
