HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 95-69RESOLUTION NO. 95-69 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND BAR SUPPORTING THE CALIFORNIA CONTRACT CITIES ASSOCIATION TO REPRESENT THE CONTRACT CITIES IN CONTINUING NEGOTIATIONS TO REFORM, ADMINISTER, AND MONITOR THE LIABILITY TRUST FUND AND SUPPORTING THE CALIFORNIA CONTRACT CITIES ASSOCIATION, ON THE BEHALF OF ITS MEMBER CITIES, TO RETAIN CONSULTANTS AS NEEDED WITH THE EXPERTISE IN CLAIMS MANAGEMENT, RISK MANAGEMENT, LIABILITY LITIGATION AND ADMINISTRATION COSTS UTILIZING MONIES FROM THE LIABILITY TRUST FUND WHEREAS, many "Contract Cities" in Los Angeles County have joined together to form the California Contract Cities Association; WHEREAS, the California Contract Cities Association routinely represents its member cities before the County of Los Angeles; WHEREAS, the California Contract Cities Association continues to serve as the catalyst for constructive changes in the management of the Liability Trust Fund; -- WHEREAS, the Liability Trust Fund continues to be in the best interest of our member (contract) cities; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Diamond Bar, does resolve, declare, determine and order as follows: SECTION 1. To support the California Contract Cities Association in representing the member cities in exploring and recommending constructive changes in the management of the Liability Trust Fund. SECTION 2. To support the California Contract Cities Association Executive Board in retaining the necessary consultants able to implement the recommended changes in the management of the Liability Trust Fund. SECTION 3. To support the California Contract Cities Association formalizing the agreement with the County of Los Angeles which will authorize the CCCA to act on behalf of the cities and to incorporate the necessary administrative procedures to implement the directives of the CCCA Board of Directors, AND FURTHER, this support shall remain in effect as the California Contract Cities Association executes an agreement with a third party administrator to administer the Liability Trust Fund on behalf of the cities. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this Ith day of December, 1995.
