A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND
BAR PROHIBITING COMMERCIAL VEHICLES OVER FIVE TONS (10,000
POUNDS) FROM PARKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF WASHINGTON
STREET FROM THE WESTERLY PROPERTY LINE OF THE MOBILE
HOME ESTATES TO ITS EASTERLY TERMINUS AND ON THE SOUTH
SIDE OF WASHINGTON STREET FROM BREA CANYON ROAD TO ITS
EASTERLY TERMINUS, THE INSTALLATION OF "30 -MINUTE
PARKING LIMIT FOR COMMERCIAL VEHICLES" SIGNS ON THE
NORTH SIDE OF WASHINGTON STREET FROM BREA CANYON ROAD
TO THE WESTERLY PROPERTY LINE OF THE MOBILE HOME
ESTATES, AND THE PAINTING OF 150 FEET OF RED CURBS AT THE
SOUTHWEST AND NORTHEAST CORNERS OF WASHINGTON STREET
AT LINCOLN AVENUE
A. RECITALS
(i) The Traffic and Transportation Commission considered this
matter at public meetings on May S, 1997 and August 14, 1997.
(ii) At the meeting of August 14, 1997, the Traffic and Transportation
Commission determined that the prohibition of commercial vehicles over five tons (10,000
pounds) from parking on both sides of Washington Street from Brea Canyon Road to its
easterly terminus and the painting of 150 feet of red curbs at the southwest and northeast
corners of Washington Street at Lincoln Avenue are appropriate.
(iii) The Traffic and Transportation Commission recommends the prohibition
of commercial vehicles over five tons (10,000 pounds) from parking on both sides of
Washington Street from Brea Canyon Road to its easterly terminus and the painting of 150
feet of red curbs at the southwest and northeast corners of Washington Street at Lincoln
Avenue.

B. RESOLUTION.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND
BAR DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. Said action is pursuant to Section 10.08.010 of the Diamond Bar City Code, as
heretofore adopted;
2. The City Council hereby finds that the public health, safety, and welfare will be
best protected by the prohibition of commercial vehicles over five tons (10,000 pounds) from
parking on the north side of Washington Street from the westerly property line of the Mobile
Home Estates to its easterly terminus and on the south side of Washington Street from Brea
Canyon Road to its easterly terminus, the installation of "30 -Minute Parking Limit For
Commercial Vehicles" signs on the north side of Washington Street from Brea Canyon Road
to the westerly property line of the Mobile Home Estates, and the painting of 150 feet of red
curbs at the southwest and northeast corners of Washington Street at Lincoln Avenue are
herein prescribed;
3. This resolution shall not become effective until the "No Commercial Vehicles
Over Five Tons" signs on the north side of Washington Street from the westerly property line
of the Mobile Home Estates to its easterly terminus and on the south side of Washington
Street from Brea Canyon Road to its easterly terminus are installed, the"30-Minute Parking
Limit For Commercial Vehicles" signs on the north side of Washington Street from Brea
Canyon Road to the westerly property line of the Mobile Home Estates are installed, and 150
feet of red curbs at the southwest and northeast corners of Washington Street at Lincoln
Avenue are painted; and

4. The City Council of the City of Diamond Bar hereby authorize and direct the
City Engineer to cause said signs to be installed and red curbs painted as herein defined be
established.
