HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2002-821 1 1 RESOLUTION 2002-.82 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND BAR APPROVING THE CITY'S COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEAR 2003-2004 WHEREAS, ON August 22, 1974, the President of the United States signed the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 (Act); and law WHEREAS, the primary goals of Title 1 of the Act are the development of viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate income; and WHEREAS, the City of Diamond Bar has received notification of the availa ility of $388,495 in Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to furth r the attainment of these goals during Fiscal Year 2003-2004; and WHEREAS, suggestions have been requested from residents, community organizations, City Departments for the utilization of these funds; and II WHEREAS, the City has published information regarding eligible activities andr the Act and met with all interested groups and conducted a public hearing to solicit com ents and suggestions from the community for the utilization of these funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of D Bar as follows: Section 1. The funding allocation for the 2003-2004 Program year shall be: PUBLIC SERVICE Senior Programming YMCA Childcare YMCA Day Camp Service Center for Independent Living ADMINISTRATION PUBLIC WORKS Home Improvement Program Sidewalk Installation ADA Compliance Lorbeer Middle School ADA Retrofit ($50,624) ($27,500) ($14,000) ($ 5,000) ($125,000) ($114,000) ($ 13,522) ($97,124) ($38,849) ($252,522) 2002-82 and Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized and directed to submit the City's final Cost Summary for Fiscal Year 2003-2004 to the County of Los Angeles, reflecting the funding allocations set forth herein. Should the City's final allocation vary by more than twenty-five percent (25%) from the figures contained herein, the City Manager is authorized to allocate the additional funds to eligible activities. Section 3. That the City Manager is authorized to execute the contractual and related documents to be prepared by the County of Los Angeles that are required for the implementation of the projects/programs set forth herein. Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage and adoption.
