RESOLUTION 2003-54
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND BAR AM NDING HE CITY'S
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEAR 2303-2004 TO
PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE PAINT THE TOWN PROGRAM
WHEREAS, on August 22, 1974, the President of the United Stateq signed into law the
Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 (Act); and
WHEREAS, the primary goals of Title 1 of the Act are the developinenit of iable urban
communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, anexpandi g economic
opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate income; and
WHEREAS, the City of Diamond Bar receives an annual allocation o Federal Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to further the attainment of these goals and
WHEREAS, on December 17, 2002, the City of Diamond Bar approved lhe City's Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program for Fiscal Year 2003-2004 with funding in th a amount of
$388,495; and
WHEREAS, the City of Diamond Bar has received notification of the avail bility ofn additional
$58,745 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds during Fiscal Yeor 2003- 004; and
WHEREAS, the City of Diamond Bar has received an application fror
Improvement Association for the Paint the Town Program; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
follows:
Section 1. The funding allocation for the 2003-2004 Program year st
include CDBG funding in the amount of $10,000 for the Paint the Town Program.
Section 2. That the City Manager or her designee is authorized to execute
related documents to be prepared by the County of Los Angeles, which ai
implementation of the program set forth herein.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after the date
adoption.
