RESOLUTION NO. 2003 —16
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND BAR
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2002-20 PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF
VEHICLES ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS DURING CERTAIN HOURS ANDAYS
FOR THE PURPOSE OF RESIDENTIAL STREET SWEEPING WITHIN THE CI OF
DIAMOND BAR
WHEREAS, Section 22507.6 of the California Vehicle Code authorizes the City to prohibit or
restrict the parking or standing of vehicles on designated streets or highways, or portion, thereof, for
the purpose of residential street sweeping; and
WHEREAS, Section 10.08.080. Parking Signs, of the City of Diamond Bar Mt
authorizes the City Engineer to place and maintain all signs and demarcations required
pursuant to the California Vehicle Code to prohibit or restrict the parking or standing c
designated streets or highways, or portions, thereof, for the purpose of residential str

problems of debris and water buildup in gutters; and
WHEREAS, the City seeks to assist in and enforce the City's storm water

WHEREAS, the prohibition of parking on street sweeping days on residenti I streets will
improve the ability of City to effectively conduct street sweeping and will beautify the City and
WHEREAS, the City Council Resolution No. 2002-20 contains Exhibit "A"at specifies
locations for Street Sweeping Signage; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to rescind Exhibit "A" of Resolution No. 2002-20 and
authorize the City Engineer to place signage on each neighborhood street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the City Engineer to notify nd work with
affected property owners regarding proposed changes to the Street Sweeping Park1 g Regulation
Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Dia�ond Bar as
follows:
Section 1. Section 1 of Resolution No. 2002-20 is amended to read as foll s: The City
Council hereby finds and determines that the public health, safety and welfare is best protected by
prohibiting parking on certain residential streets during the certain hours and days.

Section 2. The City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Engineer to cause
appropriate signage to be posted in a manner that provides adequate notice to persons parking on
the affected streets beyond that in existence as of the date of this Resolution.
Section 3: Any changes to the parking prohibitions during certain hours and days shall not
apply until the City conducts a duly noticed neighborhood meeting and places signs at appropriate
locations giving notice of the changed restrictions.

APRIL 2003.
