HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2004-37RESOLUTION NO. 2004-37 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND BAR SUPPORTING THE CITY OF INDUSTRY'S PROPOSED PURCHASE OF THE 525 -ACRE TONNER CANYON LLC PROPERTY LOCATED EAST OF STATE ROUTE 57 WITHIN ORANGE COUNTY. WHEREAS, the City of Industry has proposed the purchase of the 525 -acre Tonner Canyon LLC property located east of State Route 57 and north and south of Tonner Canyon Road within Orange County, and WHEREAS, the stated public purpose of the land purchase is for the continued use of the property as open space, and WHEREAS, the purchase of the property by the City of Industry will provide emergency access to the City of Industry owned 2,400 -acre Firestone Scout Reservation property which exists to the east / northeast via the existing Tonner Canyon Road, and WHEREAS, the proposed purchase and the intended use of the property is consistent with the previous City of Industry application to the Rivers and Mountains Conservancy, and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Diamond Bar SUPPORTS the purchase of the Tonner Canyon LLC property by the City of Industry and directs the following: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Diamond Bar shall adopt the Resolution and the City Clerk shall certify tdl4e adoption Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Diamond Bar SUPPORTS the City of Industry purchase of the 525 -acre Tonner Canyon LLC property. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this _tri day of _ July , 2004.
