HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2005-30CITY OF DIAMOND BAR RESOLUTION NO. 2005--30 A RESOLUTION OF TH CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND BAR, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON JUNE 7, 2005, DECLARING THE RESULT AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Diamond Bar, California, on Tuesday, J ne 7, 2005, as required by law; and WHEREAS, a notice of the el+ provided by law; that voting precincts were appointed and that in all respec- votes were cast, received and canvas form and manner as required by the California for the holding of elections in tion was given in time, form and manner as ere properly established; that election officers the election was held and conducted and the d and the returns made and declared in time, visions of the Elections Code of the State of neral law cities; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk canvassed the returns of the election and has certified the results to this City Council, the results are received, attached and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A." NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND BAR, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the whole number of ballots cast in the precincts except absent voter ballots and provisional ball is was 2596. That the whole number of absent voter ballots and provisional ballots cast in the City was 2188, making a total of 4784 b llots cast in the City. SECTION 2. That the names of persons voted for at the Special Election to fill the vacancy for Member of the City Council for the short term ending December 2007, are as follows: Frank A. Farago; Jack Tanaka; and Steve Tye. SECTION 3. That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given in the City to each of the p rsons above named for the respective office for which the persons were candidates were as listed in "Exhibit A" attached hereto. SECTION 4. That the City Co ncil does declare and determine that: Jack Tanaka was elected as Member of th City Council for the short term to December 2007. 2005--30 SECTION 5.
