A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DIAMOND BAR
SUPPORTING SB 959 (ROMERO), WHICH ESTABLISHES AN INVOLUNTARY HOME
DETENTION PROGRAM, INCLUDING ELECTRONIC MONITORING
WHEREAS, California's detention facilities are currently overcrowded, leaving little room for inmates
convicted of anon -violent misdemeanors; and
WHEREAS, individuals serving time for misdemeanor convictions are often released early to
compensate for these conditions; and
WHEREAS, SB 959 would authorize the County Board of Supervisors to authorize the County
Correctional Administrator to institute an involuntary home detention program, which includes
mandatory electronic monitoring; and
WHEREAS, SB 959 ensures those individuals convicted of a crime complete their sentences even if
conditions at detention facilities are overcrowded.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Diamond Bar SUPPORTS
SB 959 (Romero).
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Diamond Bar shall adopt the Resolution and the City
Clerk shall certify to the adoption.
SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Diamond Bar asks all elected local and State
officials to SUPPORT SB 959 (Romero).
SECTION 3 'That certified copies of the resolution be circulated to the following:

Joe A. Gonsalves & Son
