STATUS OF PREVIOUS ACTION ITEMS:
VII. ITEMS FROM COMMISSIONERS:
Chair/Mehta asked if the City planned to install LED street lights. PWD/Liu
responded not for the street lights in the public right-of-way; however, the City has
been in the process of replacing incandescent lighting with LED's in public facilities
over the past couple of years.
Chair/Mehta asked about the area along Diamond Bar Boulevard close to Cold Spring
Lane where there are no street lights and he wondered if the City would take action or
ask the County to light the area. PWD/Liu responded that there are three ways to
initiate the process of installing new street lights: Based on the current conditions, the

adjacent property owners along Diamond Bar Boulevard would have to sign a petition
which is submitted to the County for evaluation and consideration. If the project were
to proceed, the property owners would have to pay for the installation and subsequent
operation and maintenance of the street lights. The second option is that the City
could make the request and ultimately take over ownership and responsibility for
maintenance. The third option is that Edison install these lights under the Rule 20A
Project.
